Since I seem to be falling behind with both my blog and my school book reading, I decided to create my own Book-a-Week posts to remind me.
The first book I need to finish is the Big Book of Unschooling by Sandra Dodd.
This is basically a collection of her website in book format (although I purchased the PDF version, and am thinking today of printing it as I cannot seem to concentrate on her book when I have "fluff" stories I can read on my kindle instead).
I will update this post as I read through the book.
4/20 UPDATE: As of Monday night, I have finished this book. Yippee!
Thoughts: Its not as good as I was thinking it would be :( I was hoping for inspiration, and encouragement, and although the book has that, its not exactly in the sense I was looking for. The book is basically one (sometimes two) page summaries on a particular topic that are from Sandra Dodd's view and experience. Simple factual topics. I think this may be a great book for the complete newbie to unschooling, but as I tend to research about a particular subject long before I get a book on it (thank you internet) I usually hope for hints, tips and things beyond basics/out of the ordinary.
